Lee Hill (born 18 January 1989) is a South African Exercise Scientist and former head coach of the University of Cape Town swimming team as well as a published scientific author. He specialises in the injuries to the shoulder, with a specific interest in swimming injuries. .

Biography
Lee Hill was born in Cape Town, South Africa. After attending SACS (South African College Schools), he went on to study at the University of Cape Town.

Academic career
He obtained an undergraduate degree in Human Bioscience, specialising in Psychology and Human Physiology. His first post-graduate degree was in Exercise Science, obtained from the Division of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine at the University of Cape Town.
After completion of his Honours in Exercise Science (Medicine) degree, he began his Master of Science (Medicine) degree. After, two years, Lee Hill upgraded his M.Sc into a Doctorate of Philosophy. The title of his PhD "The Genetic Basis of Acute and Overuse Musculoskeletal Injuries" specifically examines the role of collagen gene variants in the aetiology of acute ruptures and rotator cuff tendons of the shoulder. As a former coach of swimming and a swimmer himself, he was specifically interested in the aspects of injury predisposition with reference to the shoulder in swimmers.
Hill has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals such as the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Psychology, the South African Journal of Sports Medicine and the Physician and Sports Medicine.
